Habit Forming Hollandaise Sauce


There are many recipes for Hollandaise Sauce.
This is BY FAR the easiest and best.
The secret is….the Blender. Yep.
All you do is melt a stick of butter and set aside.
In a blender put in two egg yolks and the juice of a lemon.
Turn on the blender and slowly pour in the melted butter.
Do this slowly.
Once all the butter is in the blender the Hollandaise is done.
I like to cook steaks and in the five minutes the steaks are resting, I make this sauce. Everyone loves it!

This is the original name but more and more people and restaurants are calling this “Lowcountry Seafood Boil”.
Whatever you call it be prepared to eat the simpliest most delicious and healthest seafood dish ever!
Boil a large pot of water and add Old Bay seasoning (or any seasoning you like). put in potatoe cubes, sausage and corn on the cob (cut in half).
When your ready to eat, throw in the shrimp (and/or crablegs) for a couple of minutes.
They will turn pink and float to the top.
Drain and serve on plates or newspapers spread across the table. Serve with cocktail sauce and bread of your choice.
You’ll feel like your by the water in Charleston.

Quick & Easy 5 Ingredient Peanut Noodles


Here is healthy Oriental food. Yum.
Prepare 8oz of whole wheat spaghetti as per package directions. Reserve 1/2 cup cooking liquid and drain the pasta in colander.
Whisk together the cooking liquid and 5 tbsp creamy peanut butter,
3 tbsp seasoned rice vinegar, 1 tbsp reduced-sodium soy sauce and 1/2 cup chopped scallion greens.
Add to the pasta, tossing to combine well.
Divide among your 4 serving bowls and top with slivered scallion greens.
Add red pepper flakes if you like it spicy. I do!

Salt and Vinegar Roasted Potatoes


I CRAVE salty crunchy food!
This fits the bill without wreaking my diet and kids like it as much as french fries or chips.
Simply cut washed/dried potatoes into whatever shape you prefer. You can cut them like chips or fries or cubes.
Toss with olive oil and seasonings, making sure to generously salt them.
Bake in the oven on low for a long time or on high for a short time depending on your schedule and when you want to eat them.
They should be crispy and brown when you serve them.
Sprinkle with malt vinegar and enjoy this perfect side dish. It couldn’t be easier.

World’s Greatest Chicken Marinade


Everyone will go crazy for this chicken.
Mix together the following:
1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
3/4 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup red wine vinegar
1/3 cup lemon juice
Then stir in 2 tblsp dry mustard and salt and pepper and garlic powder
Use this to marinade the chicken as long as you can.
Bake, broil or grill the chicken.
Get ready for the compliments.

The Best Broccoli Salad

I love love love Broccoli Salad! This is simple to make. In a large bowl add broccoli florets, chopped onion, sharp cheddar cheese (cut into bite size cubes) and cooked and crumbled bacon. In a separate bowl whisk together 1/2 cup of white vinegar, 1 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup of water. Pour over the broccoli mixture and keep in the fridge overnight. The next day enjoy this delicious salad. Your kids might even start to love broccoli.

Garlic Lemon Chicken

These flavors are perfect together. Simply flour boneless chicken breasts that have been cut into chunks and set aside. Heat some olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat and add some chopped garlic and the chicken and cook about 8 minutes, turning each piece a few times. Remove the chicken from the skillet and keep it warm. Add 1 cup of white wine, a couple of tablespoons of lemon juice and salt and pepper to the pan and bring to a boil, scraping up the browned bits from the bottom. Cook about 10 minutes until the juice is reduced and add the chicken back to the pan and toss with the sauce. Lemony Garlicy Goodness!

How cute are these! Just make deviled eggs (hard boiled yolks, mayo, chopped onion, chopped celery, relish, dash of mustard and some seasonings). Cut the hard boiled egg white into two pieces with the bottom being a little bit larger. Fill with deviled egg mixture and put the smaller egg white on top. Use two peppercorns(or olive pieces) for eyes and a carrot stick piece for the beak. Too peeping adorable!
