I didn’t say “How to bake a cake” because anyone can do that if you read the directions on a box of cake. I love to make a cake for someone and people seem to really love receiving cakes. If you prefer to make your cake from scratch or not or my favorite option which is to “doctor” a cake mix, the secret is to freeze the layers. I do this anywhere from a month before to the day before. Just wrap cooled layers in plastice and freeze until ready to frost. The cake will frost without crumbling and thaw soon after decorating. Fresh and more fun than doing it all at one time.
